Hi! I’m Freddie Payne, the founder of Pigman Games. I created the company as a way to share my hobby with the world.
I enjoy crafting experiences that are both thoughtful and fun in equal measure: the kinds of games that stay with you long after you’ve switched off your console.
My game development journey started in 2017, when I installed Unity for the first time and taught myself the essentials. Since then, I have entered the games industry full-time as a Game Developer and have been fortunate enough to work on such games as Sea Of Thieves and Duck Life 9: The Flock, spanning both the AAA and Indie spaces.
In my spare time, though, I do even more game development! – this is the story of Pigman Games.
Pigman Games is built on a simple vision: to make bright, characterful experiences accessible to all. But what exactly does this entail?
- Bright: the games I create are brimming with personality and charm. They feature vibrant worlds that encourage the player to dive in and explore.
- Characterful: I love writing interesting narratives and captivating dialogue for my characters. This gives my games a particular personality that is sometimes whimsical, sometimes philosophical, and sometimes both.
- Accessible: accessibility in gaming is often characterised as catering to players with disabilities and impairments. This is, of course, highly important – and a huge part of accessibility as a concept – but I have a more general view of accessibility. Have you ever felt unable to experience a game because you hit a boss fight that was too hard for you? To me, that is an accessibility problem! Pigman Games is built on the idea that everybody should be able to enjoy its games, regardless of their disability or their ability.
